this morning i got a nice 10am wake up call. after grabbing a bagel and coffs (standard procedures after a night of drinking) we cruised to midtown via the forsaken m31 and hopped on the q to brooklyn. it was just one of those days when you wake up and say "i wanna ride the train to the end of the line" and the end of the line happened to be coney island. there wasn't much to do but sit on the jetty and listen to stories of mike's fratty "golden years" (i owe you a beer for this abuse dude!) i got sick of his stories and decided we needed to make a snowman, cause how many times do you make a snowman on the beach in brooklyn on the last day of february?

before i start amping via blog about today i wanted to post the most epic e-mail i received from kacee this week. i mean, i busted out my cam for a photo op. moving on, last night we braved the 19 degree weather to explore yet another dive. welcome to the johnson's was the destination of choice- imagine being in greg brady's living room circa 1970, wood paneled walls and all. i could barely move, let alone take photos at this dump. 4 thumbs up for the johnson's. afterwards, we cruised to max fish- duh. found $15 bucks on the floor thanks to a generous and obviously wasted pro skater who will remain nameless for our protection. dude doesn't need the money and i decided it needed to go to a good cause- our drunkness. yep. bought 2 shots of patron with that beer-soaked money.

okay, today. we ate an aaaaamazing breakfast at cafe gitane in nolita. the avocado toast is a must there! delish. on the way back to the subway we made a pit stop at saturdays surf. this place is a home away form home- literally. surfboards, surf vids, coffee, and clothes- if you're not sold, then you must be crazy! after shooting it with kacee over some coffee the owner came to chat it up with us. he was super mellow and suggested we cruise to a bar that "the crew" hangs at. oh yeah- and that the other owner is from....NEWPORT! we almost lost it. anyways, the pics do it no justice- you should cruise it! until next time. -a&k

oh hey hi 2010. kacee and i have reunited once again and are back in the city. last night we cruised to the west vill for a birthday party and then to max fish. i got to meet the teen vogue crew that kacee works with and they are a wild bunch. we woke up with gnarly hangovers today and ordered some of that new dominos pizza- delish!!! keepin it mellow tonight--watching a snowboard vid and then cruisin to the local bar so that kacee can be introduced to the amazingness that is yuengling. CHEERS!

so the other night, over what is (unacceptably) becoming a routine ichat session with one of my good friends, i was told that the content on the blog seems like the reader is "on the outside of an inside joke." and so, i dedicate this post to you, sam.

kacee and i reign from the beautiful town of newport beach, california (NOT "cali"). we now reside in manhattan, slave away in the fashion industry, and started this blog because i take way too many photos and needed a place to store and edit the 100+ that i snap on a daily basis. we have this unconditional love for southern california and our undersized, upper east side closets. therefore, we bring you wearing the west. if you have any questions, contact cowboy sam in customer service.

why you are seeing posts of florida and not the concrete jungle? for those of you who still gave a shit after reading the first sentence and have made it this far, congrats! let me inform you that currently, kacee is in steamboat getting her shred on after having spent the holidays in a proper environment for those justin ropers. as for me, i can be found in the suburban swamp of weston, fl as the image of affliction shirts, cargo shorts, and flip flops burn my eyeballs. luckily, i've spent some time with normal human beings (via chicago) and i am enjoying myself without having to completely rely on alcohol. be safe tonight and happy new year!

the solid week continues! today's weather was gorgeous and i went to the museum of art in ft. lauderdale for the norman rockwell exhibit. can you say awesome!? nikki and i snuck in some photos, but got yelled at for having my cam and coffee in hand. luckily, i was done when i got caught and no coffee was wasted. 2 days left in 2009! what do to for the next 48 hours? must.include.alcoholic.beverages.

so kacee's at an undisclosed location (lol), so i'm updating the blog alone... i decided to do a last minute impromptu trip to orange county alongside kacee for a few days. i mean, i can't turn down newport beach, cassidys, or an avo bagel from al cap. crashed w/zak at our old place (thanks for the hospitality bs!). we hit up all the usual spots and survived a night at cassidy's....somewhat. i managed to lose kacee and wake up with a sprained ankle. shit was gnarce. i wish i could have stayed longer, but at least i didn't have to return to the city during the blizzard; instead, i am enjoying a 60 degree "cold front" in south florida. kacee gets to hit up copper mountain next week for a snowboard sesh while i go hit up the lf store in south beach. sweet action. until next time. x

Thursday night was Lucky's shopping party. All the editors were there, some 'celebs', and my fave- good looking dudes walking around handing out Heineken; a match made in heaven! After downing some drinks and watching Lu chase down every gorgeous man with a tray of canape we did some moderate to heavy shopping. Of course I hit up Billabong first, scored some beauty products, but the main event went down at Charlotte Ronson. Won't go into detail about that, but lets just blame it on the aaaaaaalcohol?
